Full Store Fixturing and Merchandising

As part of a massive investment strategy, Walmart Canada sought to replace its existing Edmonton Westmount location with a brand-new Supercentre at Kingsway Mall. The primary challenge was sheer scale and complexity of the transition. The new site was more than a third larger than the previous location and required a comprehensive setup.

The Reset Team was engaged to execute the complex setup requirements, specifically focusing on Retail Fixture Installation and Product Merchandising to bring this massive retail destination to life. The project required our expert coordination to handle the installation of specialized departments and an expansive international food section.

APPROACH / WHAT WE DID:

      • Planning & Coordination: We worked closely with Walmart’s planning department to manage the phasing and schedule, ensuring the accurate execution of the store’s layout strategies.
      • Installation / Build: Our teams handled the detailed receiving, chalked all lines, and installed all backroom and salesfloor fixtures.
      • Specialty Departments: Retail Fixture Installation for all departments, including the setup of the Pharmacy, the Photo Centre, and various licensee spaces such as The UPS Store and Ultracuts.
      • Merchandising: Comprehensive Merchandising Services to stock the vast array of products. This included detailed merchandising for the new fresh food sections (produce, bakery, meat) and the organization of the diverse international food aisles.

KEY HIGHLIGHTS:

This Supercentre introduced several modern features and unique logistical solutions to serve the diverse Edmonton community:

      • Expansive International Section: We executed the merchandising setup for a massive international food section featuring Asian, Indian, Middle Eastern, Italian, and Portuguese foods, along with a dedicated international frozen food section.
      • Enhanced Fresh Assortment: The layout was optimized for a fresh food assortment, including a bakery and Canadian-sourced produce, beef, chicken, pork, and seafood.

RESULTS & OUTCOMES:

The Reset Team’s seamless execution contributed to the successful launch of this brand new Walmart Supercentre, delivering immediate benefits to the client and community.

      • Modernized Experience:  The new location offers more space, products, and services than the previous store, positioning it to help central Edmonton residents “save money so they can live better”.
