Case Study

PetSmart Paper Dispensers

Next »

Client:

PetSmart Canada

Type of Project:

Retail Rollout/Fixture Installation

Project Duration:

8 weeks (September to November)

Scale:

162 Locations Nationwide

Year Completed:

2025

Scope:

Nationwide Paper Dispenser Replacement

THE CHALLENGE:

PetSmart Canada initiated a program to standardize its facility amenities by transitioning from existing Georgia-Pacific automated dispensers to a new Kleenline manual system.

The objective was to execute this replacement across 162 locations covering every Canadian province. The project required strict adherence to a 60-day schedule while working within active retail environments.

The Reset Team needed to ensure consistent ADA-compliant mounting heights across varying facility layouts and wall substrates (tile, concrete, drywall), while managing the logistical challenge of disposing of old units and securing manager sign-offs at every location.

APPROACH / WHAT WE DID:

The Reset Team utilized its own network of skilled installers to execute the rollout simultaneously across multiple regions, ensuring the project finished within the strict September 18 to November 17 window.

      • Planning & Coordination: We managed a precise schedule and handled all site access protocols, including presenting the Letter of Authorization (LOA) and coordinating with Managers on Duty before any tools were lifted.
      • Installation / Build: We handled the complete removal of existing automated units and installed Kleenline Mechanical Hands-Free Towel Dispensers alongside Jumbo Roll Tissue (Single and Double) dispensers.
      • Technical Precision: Crews were equipped with specialized hardware, including impact drills, concrete bits, tile bits, and specific anchors, to ensure secure mounting on diverse surfaces. All units were levelled and mounted in compliance with ADA accessibility. requirements
      • Reporting & Verification: Real-time digital reporting captured “Before” and “After” photos, tracked inventory usage (surplus vs. installed), and obtained immediate signatures from Store Leaders to verify completion.

KEY HIGHLIGHTS:

Successfully serviced 162 locations from Victoria, BC to St. John’s, NL.

      • Massive Volume: A total of 1,610 new Kleenline dispensers were successfully installed nationwide.
      • Rapid Execution: The entire rollout was completed within a tight 8-week window.
      • Zero Disruption: Work was performed during store hours with protocols in place to ensure safety and prevent disruption to customers and staff.
      • Asset Management: Managed the disposal of hundreds of old units and the inventory tracking of new keys and surplus dispensers.

RESULTS & OUTCOMES:

The Reset Team’s coordinated effort modernized the washrooms, breakrooms, and operational facilities across PetSmart’s Canadian fleet.

      • Standardization: Achieved a uniform look and function for amenities across the entire country.
      • Compliance:  Ensured all new installations met current ADA accessibility standards.
      • Operational Efficiency: The switch to manual Kleenline dispensers reduced the complexity of maintenance and reliance on batteries associated with the previous automated systems.
